Anatomy of an immortal – An Atlas on Plastic
How can an atlas convey the complexity of the effects of plastic? And how can it create awareness about our interactions with the material in everyday life?
Communication
It is unrestrictedly malleable, all-purpose, easily obtainable and unbeatably cheap. With the numerous advantages of plastic, we tend to forget about its many negative aspects. And yet we find traces of plastic waste in the most isolated areas of our planet, in our food, and even in our blood. My atlas Anatomy of an Immortal tackles not only the risks and hazards of plastic, but also our fascination with it. Alongside descriptive information graphics, maps and accompanying texts, the atlas contains visual experiments that facilitate a new understanding of the complexity of plastic and its effects. In addition, interactive exercises confront the reader with interconnected systems and dimensions.
