Alice and the Algorithms – The Book in the Post-Digital Age

How can digital principles be applied to the book as an analogue medium, and what consequences result from this process?

The Digital Revolution has caused a medial change, and brought about a rethink in many areas of life. In recent years, the way we receive and share information has undergone a far-reaching transformation. Digital technologies have become a fact of life, handling them, a matter of course. Digital and analogue worlds are merging – mutually influencing and improving each other.

In my thesis, I deal with this post-digital reality and examine the consequences that occur when digital principles are applied to the analogue medium. The aim of the thesis is to expand the original form of the book and thereby provide a new experience of the digital world.
